Show HN: Rollport – Copy new iPhone photos to a folder over USB (github.com)

Hi HN, I built Rollport, a cross-platform app (Windows, Mac and Linux) to import photos/videos from my iPhone to my computer, because the Windows Photos app always crashed and I do not want to use iCloud Photos or similar services. I just wanted a simple solution.

To import, you plug in your iPhone, select a folder, and hit Import. Subsequent imports into the same folder only copy new files.

It’s built with Rust and Tauri, with a Svelte UI (can very much recommend that stack now), and it is open source (MIT).

Please note: This is the initial release, so even though I tested it on all three platforms and have been using various earlier versions for a while now, there are probably still some minor bugs. Also, it is not signed, so Windows/macOS might complain.
