Will big software companies (like Adobe) come together to curb AI?

Recently heard about the fact that someone vibe-coded Adobe Cloud apps and having read people's reactions, one thing is clear: people say that this is "karma" hitting Adobe back.

Now if these developments really threaten the monopoly of some of the largest software companies in the world, it makes me wonder whether their business losses would stimulate them to come together and do something about this out-of-control tool we all call AI.

What are your thoughts?

Lets hope merit rather than hype is the best way to judge to the value of anything.

Secondly have you actually chcked whether the vibe coded Adobe replacements actually work ?

Sounds like you just believed, just like many people just believe in stuff like aliens or faith healer because they heard it on the bus or train.

I checked it on the news and multiple places but haven't actually tried it. But the point is that even if something comes so close to Adobe apps that have taken years and years to make, then what does the future hold?

Do you really think anyone in the news or social media did or would have the capability or knowledge to test any Adobe App ?

Do you think they are in anyway qualified to give an opinion if these vibe coded apps actually work ?

I think it is irrelevant, as PhotoShop is notoriously poor in UX. GIMP has even worse UX. The battle is not in cloning PhotoShop, but in rethinking complex photo editing.
But just a side question: Don't you think people can solve this using AI much more quickly and possibly then become "relevant".
You didnt even ask if the vibe app even works...

A bad UI doesnt mean something doesnt work, it also doesnt mean something does work. A critical mind is required to actually investigate if something works in all the way that should.

No. First, Adobe doesn't have the capital or market power to square off against the entire AI economy. Bubble or not, AI labs, hyperscalers, and all their customers & suppliers represent trillions in capital and significant political power.

Second, the vast majority of Adobe's revenue comes from enterprise licensing agreements not individual consumers who might switch to free, open source alternatives.

Third, good, free alternatives to Adobe tools have already existed for many years, such as PhotoPea.
