Why do so many people look TERRIBLE with all the money they spend on cosmetic treatments for their face? I am a facial cosmetic surgeon and have been practicing for just over 20 years. I work in Beverly Hills and Miami and my practice is both surgical and non-surgical (ie fillers) and I specialize in very natural results. I always tell patients: the procedures are EASY to do but making it look natural is the hard part. I am constantly surprised at the interactions I have with patients who don't have the experience to know when another provider is selling them on treatments that I know either don't work or can even cause harm long-term. I also realize I can only serve 1 patient at a time and I wanted to try democratize the consultation experience and give patients the information needed to make an informed decision based upon the published literature and my own clinical experience. The website I created is called MyMirrorMD.com and is designed to help patients know what treatments would be supported for THEIR unique face, in what volumes/amount and approximate price points. I've also added a section called "guide" that compares common treatments and answers many of the questions I have fielded day after day for many years. Would love to know your feedback on this project, which is my first foray into using AI and building a website.
I like this part: "If your report doesn't name at least one specific treatment to consider [...], you get a full refund.". Straight-up admitting, that you will never tell someone, that they look fine naturally and you'll always try to push them to consider a cosmetic surgery - or you'll at least try to plant a seed of doubt about their looks in them. Sounds like a great app!
My friend tried to investigate the AI second opinion space, and was quickly shut down when putting in a proposal to the FDA.
Apparently the net effect in patient outcomes because of a second opinion that isn’t verified/validated by a doctor was questionable enough for them to request clearer studies, proving the approach’s efficacy.
