How to make my business survives it's first 5 years?

I want to know how can I make my business survive? Please offer me some advice and guidance. And before you do I hope you all look on the past situation was it mostly luck that you survived or your skill. Because I'm afraid what may work for you may not work for me.

which business?? you would need to be more clear? is it a start up? or traditional business? and depends on which sector you work in the advice will change.

With so little information, the only advice is "have enough money to run the business and pay salaries even if you get zero income for its first 5 years"

1. Cash in the bank monthly 2. separate personal vs business money 3. three numbers that matter: cash, money in, money out. No fancy dashboards
