Revolut down – Global ATM withdrawals and bank transfers failing

Revolut has been down almost an hour, with ATM withdrawals across multiple countries failing, bank transfers not working, and various failures in the app.

Their status page reports all green, but they have confirmed the issue in replies on Twitter.

I confirm, first down for me after 4 years of usage. Got little scared at first that I had my account blocked...

So this is what it feels like to enter a world of financial anxiety due to AI-enabled attacks against banks. No idea as to what caused the service outage, but I've felt like it's just a matter of time before AI was used to try to breach a financial institution, which just so happens to hold a lot of my money.

Their stauts page is now updated, but it got them some while. This looks pretty major.

Revolut Business is also down, which does business banking including payment terminals & online subscription processing, so this is going to disable quite a few businesses, in addition to normal consumer payment flows.

They've been expanding hard across Europe recently, this might dent people's confidence in these new fangled neobanks a bit...
