Show HN: Daisy – Mac only keyboard/mouse sharing (misfitdev.github.io)

I couldn't find a free keyboard/mouse sharing tool that handled the Apple trackpad well, so I set about directing the robots to make one. I've only tested on 26 and 27, so I make no promises about anything else.

I have some nits to work out before I'm comfortable with a 1.0 but I use it daily and I'm finding it pretty useful. Beyond just the trackpad, there are a few things I personally care about that I put into the requirements:

- No traffic leaves the network (unless you enable update checking) - Trust is shared across the chain (if A trusts B and B trusts C, then A trusts C) - No shared accounts (apple does this better than Daisy does but the trust requires the same icloud account) - Easy but safe peer adoption - Easy layout changes

From a feature perspective, I think I've checked all the boxes I care about. When I move a laptop around on my desk, it's super easy to move it in the chain (bug!). I can copy/paste files around easily (still testing). I respect MDM policies for screen timeouts but still keep screens active across the chain, when one device is active.

Things I'm still debugging: - sometimes the layout screen loses the peers, even though the connections are still registered - sometimes a peer will start getting a little jerky - I need to test more file transfers

Even with those nits, I think it's good enough for my daily driver and since it's free, I figured I'd share.

Let me know what you think. Or don't.
