Ask HN: What do 'Creative Technologist' or 'Design Engineer' mean to you?

I have an extensive creative background (exhibiting tech artist) in addition to being a web developer with 15+ years of experience. In the past couple of years I've seen the job titles Creative Technologist and Design Engineer pop up on job boards. I have applied to those and never get a response. From what I can tell they don't even bother to look at my portfolio or read my cover letters where I describe the creative background. I have no idea what companies mean when they ask for that now.

What do 'Creative Technologist' or 'Design Engineer' mean to you all, in professional terms?

viki.wiki is for design, engineering, creative technology and my entire CV on a roll of toilet paper. oops I mean infinite tape.

I prefer "4-Dimensional design" but you don't know what they do to ATS these days...
