For my old browser, deny list that kicks a number of problematic trackers and the like: site including ask hn threads all have been loading fine without issue.
I would suspect a timing issue. A couple of decades ago some sites within Australian gov ... .edu used to do that as a method to guess if the person was within Australia but it really messed with those on satellite.
