No kidding

1. too many interviews/screening

2. too much credentialism

3. emasculating environment

4. low pay

5. non-work alternatives (e.g., side hustles, Uber, disability )

6. inheritances and other help ( as people become wealthier and boomers die)

I cant even imagine what you mean by "emasculating environment"?
I wouldn't choose the word "emasculating", but certainly a demeaning environment of constant monitoring and micromanagement. I was talking to someone in the NHS recently, a professional doctor, who says the whole thing with endless micromanagement and paperwork is exhausting, and he wants out. It affects all employees, men and women.
The job market is filled with fake jobs, 10 round interviews, AI screening and even AI interviewers. The degree has lost its signal, hiring is broken and many are not interested in underemployment. Articles like this is why I am not surprised anti-establishment is on the rise. Blame literally anything apart from the problem.
