"Stupid was as stupid did."

-Forrest Gump's mom

In truth, the true blame is on a fundamentally broken healthcare system made unaffordable to many people so they seek free advice. If ChatGPT didn't exist she may have asked a friend or co-worker for advice and maybe the same thing happens. I doubt they'd have spoken as confidently though.

The article states that she was seeing a doctor regularly.
You just called an extremely stressed woman who was about to lose her job and get deported, with cognitive deficits stemming from epilepsy, "stupid". Even worse, that woman is now dead.

I have temporal lobe epilepsy. It took years to get the meds dialed in. When seizures are occurring, and in between, you are cognitively impaired. Add major stress to that and it's a recipe for poor decision making and lack of agency.

Now go take a good look in a mirror, and consider the kind of person you're looking at.

Well put

and another one.
What this, and the article, really point to is a need for folks in tech and other high performing areas despite their epilepsy to come together.

Other groups I’ve found in recent years have provided support and shown me for the first time I wasn’t alone. But none talk a lot about this.
