.... and yet the console still can't do YouTube... (sighs in frustration not for myself, but for the kids in my family, who still gravitate towards the first one to watch a video here and there)

With a jailbreak, you can install a homebrew YouTube app. Unfortunately, doing so puts you at risk of having your console banned.

We need to find ways to prevent the console from calling home, that way we can prevent situations where Nintendo can tell me if I'm allowed to use or not the hardware I paid for. Literally the greediest company out there, selling decade old games for 80 bucks.
