And then something happens to your decade+ old account and there's zero support. *sigh*
I got the "login to access old reddit" block the other day.

I'm not logging into my personal reddit on my work computer, so you've lost me.

Wait til another search engine comes out that doesn't rank reddit
Why was reddit ever ranked? Every time I asked a question, I'd get stale jokes and pedantry. I learned to not expect anything useful from redditors.
Sounds like the beginning of the end, as far as I can tell.
what makes you think so?
Reddit will lose any revenue they could have booked from people who were directed to the article but don’t have an account.

Reddit will no longer be searchable by search engines, and that will dry up any source of revenue that they could have gotten from those people who do not have an account.

People aren’t going to bother to sign up for an account just to read a Reddit article.

When you make yourself a completely walled-off society, you will slowly leak people who can’t be bothered to sign in every time. And you can no longer draw in people who do not currently have an account.

That’s a sure-fire recipe for ending yourself. Sooner or later.

Gosh, thanks GenAi. Sure fire recipe for the end of your account.
