Wow! Now all we need is Fasttracker 2 and then 90's music revival is done!
Great work. Don't forget to check the demo songs and TGV kilomix from bar 30 or smth.
Wow that's impressive indeed. That said, it sounds way worse than the OG Rebirth did, eg the open hihat is just white noise I think instead of a proper 909 hihat.
Yes, somewhere on HN, the developer wrote that these drum machines aren't sample-based (like the original), but that all sounds are (unfortunately) generated via sound synthesis.
yeah this was a response to that. i think most people are attracted to this program because of its sound and aeshetic. I mean its not hard at all to set up a rack with 2 303's, an 808 and a 909. That's why I figured that it should be available in it's original state, rather than a copy
More like Windows running in browser running Rebirth 338 (at least going by all the 'wine' in filenames) ;)
The webpage is loading an incredible amount of .js files which all look identical (https://margeux.com/rb338/boxedwine-firefox-20261103.js, looks like Emscripten JS shims), but then also loads two massive blobs (one is 100 MB, the other 150 MB). I'd at least check what's up with all those .js file downloads, that looks like a bug tbh.
First start takes very long btw on a 50 MBit connection, most time seems to be spent with this same small JS file that's downloaded many times, I'm sure this could be massively optimized.

[ 1.4 ms ] story [ 12.5 ms ] threadIt's a very impressive clone, works very well (pre AI!). The only downside is it doesn't have the "Space Pigs" theme.
