I have been a C/C++ dev since forever, so after I recently got laid off I thought building something simple from scratch to take my mind off of depressing job hunt and learn something along the way in a totally new tech stack to rediscover my love for programming.
I built this project for cataloging movies in plain js,html,css without using any crutches ( Ai ) as a challenge. I am still figuring out how to profile and optimize code on js-side.
I sourced the data from other movie sites(like imdb) and built an index from it split in shards.And I am still figuring out ways to scrape cover photos of movies, thats also small enough(for the entire data-st) to be hosted on git-repo and served as static site.
