An interesting little innovation when you just need that snippet of info without the clutter of an entire browser window.

A video-like, customizable window for all other content.

who asked for this?
The same people who asked for Mozilla’s investment in AI: no one.

How far have the mighty fallen. Mozilla’s antics should be taught at colleges.

At least this feature is novel and miniscule in scope. Unlike AI, it doesn't require an independent server infrastructure to function, and its functionality couldn't really have been added with an extension.

And people have to hunt for the feature to try it, they don't have to hunt for the option to disable popups announcing it.

Apparently people who cant read, because if its a mini window, either the text is shrunk into dots or only a few words out of a page are shown. In both cases theres nothing to read.
I didn't, but now I want it!

I've always liked Vivaldi's ability to show two tabs side by side without needing to open a new window. But being able to select just the image/portion you want and have that on the side can be quite useful.

I know HN is always negative on Firefox, but for me this is a rare example of them innovating like they used to in the Firebird/early Firefox days.
