Ask HN: Is it possible the field's course gets readjusted to normalcy again?

There's been an influx of slop, and working hasn't been as fun as it was; however, I was thinking if, perhaps, this is all happening because we're in a transition and it's not final, and maybe we're not gonna die.

I'm sorry if that sounds young-ish; I'm not a veteran, though I've been trying to be a bit more hopeful towards the future, but what if in the near future, the slop gets more filtered, and there are more job openings for things that are fun, and different skills flourish in the AI era, and writing specs becomes the thing we get our kicks out of.

It's dreadful for me that we don't need to 'write' code anymore, still, I have faith there'll be fun things in the future.

I get that. I am developing some high level shit and I have zero education. I feel like I'm robbing PhD programmers of their worth because Claude takes what I ask for and just does it. You still have to have a very good big picture mind, but I excel at big picture thinking and therefore I'm making some powerful shit with zero experience. It's not fair for people who went to school forever to learn code.
