Forwarding DMCA notices is rather different from "working with" the RIAA. I'm no lawyer, but wouldn't the ISPs be breaking the law by not forwarding the notices?
Well this whole thing started with the RIAA stating they are no longer actively searching for users illegal downloading music. So if they are no longer actively searching for them, where are these cease and desist orders originating from? The ISP's say they are not actively seeking the users dling music nor should they, they are just forwarding the notices. The original drama started when the RIAA basically told the ISPs its their job to find the users and notify them of their doings, of which is what the ISPs "hadn't responded to yet".
"Comcast adds via spokesperson that nothing's changed"
So did the RIAA lie and they are still actively seeking out and reporting to ISPs to report to the user or is this article misinformed?
I wish I had another option but Comcast is really the only option around me. What have others done to try to get on a respectable broadband connection?
Um it isn't blatant copyright violation. Are you just not informed of all the bandwidth shaping that Comcast does? Comcast tried to block many legit uses of broadband. Also falsely claiming unlimited data while limiting both total data and you data speeds to be less than advertised.
I can't even run bit torrent to legal files with out my connection dropping speed or failing to connect to the torrent entirely.
I also don't think my internet provider should be looking at my packets at all so they shouldn't be aware of copyright or not, I demand and get privacy in my real mail, why can't I expect it online. Open others mail is a felony, but sharing my packets with filters from the RIAA so they can accuse people?

One would think the RIAA would realize that two million notices means their tactics aren't working.
Can we have ONE day without a ritualistic bashing of the music industry and the RIAA, please?
