Ask HN: Would an accelerator program ever accept another social networking site?

I originally did not plan to end up building a social networking site. I tried to focus on a very small niche but I realized that my "concept" would be applied much better to a site where people can share photos. As a result, I ended up changing things around and now I'm going to end up with another social networking site like everyone else. I really want to apply to some accelerator programs because I feel that I could gain a lot of experience and mentorship throughout 3 months. Would an accelerator program ever be interested in a social networking site and how can I market this most effectively for a successful application?
