I know there's a lot of criticism of the Obama administration efforts to open up technology in government, but given where we used to be I love all of these small steps in the right direction.

The CTO of the US - I forget the name - did a talk about how they want to open up and asking what they could do to improve technology in government. Dozens of hands shot up. "I can't do anything about the DMV that's at state level" he continued, as most hands went down again.
