Help Engineer Balanced's Fraud/Risk Systems

Balanced is seeking data engineers/scientists to help engineer its risk management solutions. As a payments company, risk management is a crucial part our business. Our transaction volume is exploding and we are in the lookout for smart engineers who will help our scale fraud/risk and identity management.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze our transaction data and come up with risk models

- Train offline models and use the model to predict the risk of a given transaction in real time

- Take the model through production. Yes, this is NOT a pure research position, you will be responsible for production code

- Interface with the operations team to handle chargebacks, providing necessary data to our banking partners, requesting necessary data from our banking partners etc

- Build dashboards and heavily use data visualization tools to monitor transaction trends

- Interface with customers regarding their concerns about risk/fraud. Prioritize engineering efforts based on these discussions

Skills:

- Exceptional Engineer

- Clear, precise communication

- Have a deep understanding SQL

- You love Machine learning/statistical algorithms

Bonus points:

- Past experience handling risk

- Background in statistics

- Ability to build visualization tools
