Regardless of her actions within the UK proper and whether you support her ideological policies or not, we cannot deny that her support of the rightwing/facist dictator Pinochet was the source of much pain and anguish for those in South America.

Thanks but I am consciously attempting to ignore world and political news, so what is this story got to do with technical and IT stuff here at HN?
Many older individuals who may take part within the HN community may have been alive during her reign. They may have also been directly influenced by her policies.

Margaret Thatcher had a fundamental and profound impact on the lives of millions of people in the UK, for better or (probably) for worse.
