Heap is an entirely new approach to analytics: just capture everything, and organize it all after-the-fact. This lets our customers conduct powerful analytics without having to ship code or wait for data.

It works. We're profitable and revenues are growing sharply, just a few weeks after launch.

There are 3 fundamental pillars to our product:

1) Real-time infrastructure. Our problem statement is slightly ridiculous. We need to embed ourselves in every app session, pipe each action up to our servers, slice and dice the data in arbitrary ways, and serve the results in sub-second latencies. All in real-time.

2) Data capture. We automatically capture client-side actions on web. But there are other platforms we can hook into. And other types of data we can capture. We’ve expanded the search space of user data considerably, but there’s far more that needs to be done.

3) Data visualization. With the volume of data Heap consumes, simple pre-generated graphs just don't cut it. There's an exponential increase in the number of ways to organize the data, and a need for proactively separating signal from noise.
