Work for a school district and read HN? Clever (YC S12) wants to talk
We're currently hiring for two non-technical positions (as well as hiring excellent engineers):
* The Director of District Partnerships will take Clever’s rapid growth to the next level so that every student in America can benefit from education technology that “just works.” Details below.
* The Operations Manager will ensure that our systems scale quickly enough to keep up with our school growth. Details at https://getclever.com/about/jobs
Clever is backed by top-tier investors, so we’re lucky enough to have the financial freedom to build the company we’ve always wanted to work for. We get up every day knowing we’re helping to improve education for millions of kids. It’s a cool job perk, way better than free meals (though we have those, too).
Director of District Partnerships - Full-Time - San Francisco
You will take Clever’s rapid growth to the next level so that every student in America can benefit from education technology that “just works.” As a trailblazer in personalization and online learning, you’ll advocate for seamless data integration as a basic requirement of adopting new technology, and you’ll show how Clever makes that easy. You’ll also gather insights from the field to inform Clever’s product and marketing direction.
Things we’re looking for:
* You’re exceptional at selling Clever’s vision and keen to identify where Clever’s technology solves a real need. This means running a sales pipeline - developing relationships, assessing needs, presenting, closing - as well as being honest if Clever isn’t the right fit.
* You’ve worked in schools, ideally as a technology, data, or edtech director. Classroom experience is a plus!
* You make decisions quickly, implement them relentlessly, and adjust course with ease.
* You’re extremely organized, with the ability to track status and allocate time across hundreds of school districts.
* You’re a master communicator, who can explain Clever to an enterprise applications architect, a school secretary, and everyone in between.
* You look forward to traveling to school districts and edtech conferences across the country.
* You have strong leadership experience - founding a startup, leading a district, or making an equivalent impact elsewhere in education.
What Clever offers:
* A chance to revolutionize education
* Competitive salary and significant equity in well-funded, high-growth company
* A defined problem to solve, a close-knit team, and significant opportunities for growth
* Great benefits - healthcare, dental, unlimited Amazon budget, beautiful office, free lunch
* Relocation assistance to San Francisco if needed
To apply, send an email to jobs+bd@getclever.com with your resume, a description of what excites you about Clever, and a list of ten US school districts (with NCES ids) you know well, who you know there, and how you know them.
