Ask HN:Apple allows Free app with login(login info sold outside the app store)?

The app store guidelines(11.1) say 'Apps that unlock or enable additional features or functionality with mechanisms other than the App Store will be rejected' but there are apps like Netflix etc. So I am doubtful about this, anyone with experience please share. Thanks.
