Unemployed computer engineers

I have been asked these questions from quite some time about how can one get into IT industry and get their first job.

As there are thousands of engineering colleges in India which provides courses in IT and CS. Most of the colleges fail to get campus recruitment. Once passed out from colleges people has to search for jobs their own. Fighting with lacs of other graduates they find themselves hopeless. On top of it these students actually have no idea about the current trends in IT industry.

I have been thinking about to fill this GAP between freshers and jobs but no luck.

Any clue?

Well is it a problem of people not knowing about job opportunities or recruiters not knowing about people pool?

I personally think that no, it isn't and everyone good enough will land a job, degree or not. I think the real issue is raising the quality of engineers finishing these colleges you're referring to or colleges filtering who to admit to and who shouldn't be in IT. Unless it's a visibility problem you can't "force" a company to hire someone.

But there are bunch of idiots who keep admitting students in such courses even after they fail into entrance exams. I think govt in India has no control over such colleges. These colleges are running just for the sack of money making.
There are firms who hire people for underpaid apprenticeships, with the assumption that they move on to bigger and better things in two years.
You could try talking with American companies who offer H1B sponsorship, as they like hiring Indian developers for less than American developers. For an Indian, this is a great deal since they get their citizenship sponsored, and the company gets skilled workers for lower pay than they'd have to offer a citizen. Based on my experience with Amazon, AT&T and other tech companies, there's a huge market for Indians in software in the US, I'd imagine it's easier for an Indian to get a job in the field than even an American.
Is there any way so that group of such people can get the work outsourced from outside India? Freelancing does not work for them as they do not have strong profile on freelancing websites to showcase.
3rd rate teachers and education system in India - what do you expect.
I read somewhere that average IQ of the Indian population is 80. With average IQ so low what do you expect.
