Isn't every rails developer an "expert" by definition, um, I mean religion? ;-)
It would be helpful to mention what your startup is doing.
"We're a YC team of 2 looking for a Django/Rails whiz to build our web app."

Are the two of developers as well or are you business guys?

If they got into YC, I'd assume at least one of them is a developer.
Yeah, and that he would already have a preference for rails or django... not both.
Maybe the other developer is working on hardware, or an iphone app, or a desktop app. I've been the sole "web guy" for a desktop software startup before.
Why do people like this ask for experts?

I know you want an expert, but you really have to approach this logically. If they're an expert, it's highly unlikely they're going to accept equity in some unknown, dubiously advertised startup rather than the sweet cash they are (or at least if they're a real expert, should be) making already. If they aren't making real money, then you should probably question their qualifications, and in the process, rethink what you're offering your future employees.
