popular culture is what keeps "women" out of science vocations. you grow up with "boys, music, fashion, and popularity" as your priorities, brought upon by social structuring and peer pressure, and your brain simply conforms to that. if you never take an interest in science as a kid, you're not going to grow up and become a physicist, chemist, or mathematician...
