HTTP Basic Authentication freezes up iPhone

Try this:

1) Add a password-protected (by HTTP Basic Authentication) URL to your homescreen

2) Access the URL by clicking on the shortcut icon on your homescreen

3) Click "Cancel" instead of entering authentication credentials
