Startup Fundraising Review

When I bought my first company (an existing franchise) we were shocked at the process from the buyers perspective. What people asked for, and what they were willing to take was not even close. We are not talking like houses or cars, that is piddly - more like a 50% swing.

We eventually found a resource that showed us P&L numbers, sales prices and what it eventually sold for, on about a thousand small businesses. It validated what we were seeing.

Which brings me to today, I am starting into the process of raising money for my startup and am wondering if such a resource exists.

How much money was the startup asking for? How many angels did they talk to? How many made an offer? How far from the ask, was the offer?

Does such a knowledge base exist anywhere?
