I think this could be great for new employees, but I don't think I'd want to live there after the first year. All of the people that I've talked to lived in Menlo/Mountain for the first year or so but now have moved out to places like SF.
Terrible article. In addition to multiple broken links and the hyperbole of an apartment building being called a "town", the claim that the units are "all intended for Facebook employees" is misleading. There will probably be a lot of FB employees that live there because it's next to their HQ (and Facebook is an investor in the project), but there's no connection beyond that. http://www.sfgate.com/business/bottomline/article/Facebook-p...
This would be fantastic for new college graduates and interns. I've always wondered why Google didn't provide dorms, considering the number of interns they hire. For a fresh college grad who's looking to save some money, code and live with like-minded people (for the most part) -- should be a lot of fun.
It seems like most tech companies trying hard to ignore serious housing problem in Bay Area

I think this is very good move

FB is trying everything to convince the stock market it is here for the long-term.
Sounds like corporate housing. Most large companies have them.
