Ask HN: Social Services API?

Someone just reached out to me proposing a Yelp-like mobile app focused on providing info and reviews of social services for those in need. I can imagine building the front end and even handling the review/feedback aspect, but I'm wondering if there's any sort of API that anyone knows of that could provide data regarding available services in the first place. Anyone know of anything?
