The market in Melbourne is quite good, particularly for Ruby and Javascript developers. I'm based in Sydney, and often see interesting positions come up in Melbourne. I'm sure you won't have any problems getting a great gig.
I like your instructions for recruiters. Reminds me of real estate, where many sales involve both a listing agent and a buyer's agent. It seems you have a good listing agent.
