Ask HN: how would you solve the usd/btc exchange delay?

Dear HN,

In my quest on improving the Bitcoin, I've stumbled into one major problem which I think is quite essential to the Bitcoin as a payment platform. And that is that the exchange of BTC -> USD takes up to a couple of days and in the worst case a week. How is this effectively solvable? I've thought a lot about it but I just can't seem to find a good solution which will structurally benefit the Bitcoin as a whole.
