Worse raffle prize ever Mini Maxwell

The raffle started. I continue talking to a friend ignoring the remote possibility of me winning anything. Then I hear "$2000" and I continue to ignore... Suddenly the unthinkable happened: My name got called. My heart started racing and I walked towards the stage, pride rising through my chest, huge smile on my face thinking christmas came early. And there she was holding the white box... She looked at me and said: "Let's shake hands and look good for the camera." Shocked I smiled even more, took the box and went back to my friend. We opened it and found this (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23898/2013-12-12%2019.59.31.jpg).

What can it be? Can I use it? Is it really worth 2k? While I was trying to answer all these questions iPad airs, wireless speaker and other mundane things were being given away, but I had the Mini Maxwell. The only reference I found was on the generous donor's website: http://iwl.com/ full of lovely sentences like "Desktop OS Faiures" and other little gems that I'm not going to go into.

Amazon is out of it http://www.amazon.com/InterWorking-Labs-Inc-MMXX-Emulator/dp/B004V9U542

Ebay and craigslist do not have anything like it until this http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/ele/4241751555.html.

The electronics recycling store would not even come pick it up as it's too small.

I didn't even get the joy of playing with the bubble wrap as the bubbles had already been deflated (https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/23898/2013-12-12%2021.05.23.jpg).

And I'm asking you HN reader who gives away their junky hardware at a Year-end Cocktail Party? Why not just give... nothing? Where is the pride of gifting something truly cool? Who could possibly want a Mini Maxwell as a gift?

Happy Holidays and may your boxes be filled with something better than Mini Maxwells!
