Ask PG: Would you consider Riak suitable for HN?

2 points by Communitivity ↗ HN
Riak is a distributed database designed for high-availability. It's written in Erlang, and its API has a number of clients in different languages. It is used by Best Buy, Bump (now in Google), Comcast, Turner, NHS, Yammer, Github and a number of others. Riak is specifically designed to help prevent things the recent HN outage. FYI, I am in no way connected with Riak or Basho, other than using Riak and having gone to conferences on it.

What are your thoughts on the idea of using Riak as part of HN?
