Ask HN: Best tech for monitoring elderly relatives

My wife's grandmother is 93, fiercely independent and recently had a stroke which means she may not be able to live alone anymore. I'm researching cameras, motion sensors, alert bracelets and monitoring services so see if we can keep her in the house she loves.
