Newsletter aggregator

My 12 year-old nephew recently contacted me with an idea he's had for building an online newsletter aggregator/manager - it seems that he subscribes to so many newsletters, that he's losing track, hence the idea.

My questions: has anyone here come across such a solution online? Is there merit in such a solution?
