Tech will abandon you one day.

It happens when you turn 30 or so. All of a sudden, it seems you can't get a job anymore. You can't compete with the fresh college grads who seemingly have no lives. All the cheap labor from India & China work harder & cheaper than you. The tech landscape has totally changed - your built-up years of experience are basically worthless. Once considered a senior engineer, you're now back at junior level. As much as you had proclaimed loving the tech industry before, it doesn't care about you at all. You're left to rot, maybe to become a bartender or work in fast food or to just be abandoned.
