Ask HN: Why was my post lynched?

i posted- "Never EVER blame the user programs. How hard can this be to understand? -Linus (marc.info)" half an hour back on HN. This was my first post here. It was flagged dead within a minute because a certain gentleman assumed that i had waded through his comments yesterday and had 'stolen' the post from there.

This is for him and his mob-

i'll tell you how i arrived at it. i read this post that trended yesterday-

33. Curse Of The Gifted (2000) (vanadac.com) 594 points by luu 1 day ago | flag | 340 comments

And then i started reading mail archives of the kernel-devel.

>> "Maybe I play too much Dota, but my first thought was to report this player as toxic. I've learned that if you treat your team members with respect they are more likely to contribute and return the respect. Conversely, if you are toxic to them, you might still win, but it won't be as fun :/."

As someone did point out there, don't play so much Dota that you start assuming toxicity around. i respect forums and the need of quality control, but shoving the read-EVERY-post-comment-and-thread-before-you-post is nothing more than self-righteous fundamentalism. You and your friends who flagged the post dead within a minute would've had a defense if you allowed me to put up my side of the story before mobbing me.
