ASK HN: Leading articles feature request

There's a leaders table, but what about leading submissions (of all time)? The more obvious the previous posts garnering karmic respect are, the more likely future posts are to follow suit, no?

[EDIT: I was going to say with the exception of external sites - I doubt all HN readers use/know about searchyc.com - but I thought it was implied by giving the motivation. One objection I can see to incorporating the data into HN, is that if submissions are made into a competition it could shift the primary focus of the site?]
