"Atom: Now with" trend

I'm very excited about Atom, mainly because of it modular nature. But what this differs from Brackets modular nature that is also in Javascript?

I'm asking this, because I want to answer to me this question: to which project should I contribute with new modules?

What would you do or what are all the variables that I should consider to make this decision?
