Can't wait... G.R.R. Martin is terrific. Heard some rumor that HBO or showtime was making a live-action series based upon the books. Love the gritty realities of his novel... Never afraid to lop the head off the main protagonist in the middle of a book. Bravo.

They've already started casting on the tv series. Sean Bean is cast as Eddard and Dinklage is cast as Tyrion. Looking forward to it.

The next book has been 'almost ready' for years. I think its passed 8 years for this book(first half was released 2ish years ago).

Another popular fantasy author, Robert Jordan, died before the last book was completed in his 13? book series. I hope a successful tv series($$) is a proper motivator and I look forward to meeting him at worldcon in august.

I never got around to reading "A Feast of Crows" (I think that's the title). Is it worth it?

If you have any taste for high fantasy, you should read it. In my opinion, AFfC suffers a bit under the lack of the storylines of Tyrion and Daenerys. But on the other hand, the Cersei storyline is brilliant. I'm still scratching my head as to how Martin is able to imagine his characters.

Yeah, Feast is really good, it only suffers from the fact that it feels like you're only getting half the story. There are a few points where they allude to events I assume will be in Dragons, but you don't get to read them in Feast.

Summary: It's good, but it feels like half a story...

GRRM is by far my favorite fantasy author, but notoriously slow in releasing books. I wouldn't hold you breath for this release date, he's blown by release dates for this series countless times before. If you want to keep up to date with his latest, go to his not-a-blog blog:
