Ask HN: Snip.ly security issues
The Show HN for Snip.ly was on the front page for a few hours and it stirred up a big controversy (penalized once it hit 40 comments). Now I'd like to specifically Ask HN for solutions as opposed to feedback on the product.
Summary: http://Snip.ly is a link shortener that lets you embed messages into any website.
Side A: Powerful tool for extending your brand, providing commentary, and provide relevant resources.
Side B: Potential for spam, malicious use, and phishing.
The HN community provided some great ideas, such as requiring a certain follower:following ratio to register, automatically blacklisting malicious links, etc.
Please share your suggestions!
