Hello all - new to HN and looking for feedback from this community. Specifically would like to hear from salespeople and folks who have tried to purchase for their organizations.
hello - I work in a research lab and interact with a lot of vendors for the inventories and equipments. This will be very useful in the purchasing when we negotiate for pricing. It will put all the people in one place while negotiating.
I'm a beta user. Using this to buy sales productivity software for my small team. So far so good. I like that everyone can see what's happened so far. It has saved me a lot of time and we can also compare vendors side-by-side and keep everything in one place. Actually, as a salesperson, I would use this if my customers were willing.
Beta user here, sales ops team at a mid-sized, hyper-growth startup you've heard of :-) Trying it out to manage vendor proposals for various sales training, productivity tools, implementation, etc. Could also see huge value on the other side for our salespeople having more clarity into the buying process and decision-making criteria of our customers
I think this would have been really useful in my last role where as a government contractor we had to get three bids for everything we purchased/rented on behalf of the client. We often had to set up events at the last minute and I could see this making our purchases go much faster. I hated tracking down whose desk a PO got stuck on or where we were in the bid process.
This tool will help large organizations like mine to manage the purchase activities in a better and consolidated way. The interaction and the ability to share the deals is great to have. Currently the purchasing process in most of the organizations is very fragmented and kept in pockets which results in over paying and not allowing us to leverage the efficiencies of collective bargaining. I would love to test this tool out.
This would be great for companies that have multiple offices and can't get together as often to discuss vendors. Also to find out whether certain vendors had already received manager approval at some point.
As a prior procurement professional, I think Roshee's concept is both innovative and much needed. Based on my experience at Siemens and at an automotive startup, we could have certainly benefited from Roshee's proposed platform to make more effecient purchasing decisions in a more organized and disciplined manner.
Not to be rude, but most of these comments are from accounts less than a day old. Obviously there's nothing wrong with asking your satisfied customers to commend your product, but it just smells "off" without a bit of disclosure.
Well full disclosure, I'm a friend of the developer's and warned him that asking his beta users to comment would look sketchy.
However, to be fair, all he did was share the link to the HN post on facebook and ask for comments, so all of the comments you see here were actually written by the users out of their own volition, they were just made aware of the post.
As a beta user and vendor manager for a large online retail company, I have enjoyed using Roshee. It has saved lots of time and I will be recommending its broader adoption across our company.
This appears more useful for larger companies. Startups can usually shout across the office and get approval to purchase whatever is necessary. At least until they grow big enough.
