Who is the Homejoy Data Engineer?

You are a leader! Willing to jump in & lead data collection & warehousing efforts, including, the design & implementation of the data warehouse. You will work closely with stakeholders to make sure that the most important data is accessible & easily understood.

What does the data engineer do?

* Create ETL processes and ensure that data is properly stored * Build systems that make it possible for non-engineers to make data-driven decisions

Here's what we're looking for:

* 2+ years experience as a Data Engineer * Proven track record of setting up large data sets, performing statistical analysis, and presenting results * Understanding of how to design for scale + reliability * Familiar with Python * Experience with Hadoop/Hive/Pig or HBase * Experience with statistical software packages and programing environments * Bachelors in CS, math or science from a top tier school

* Language and environment fluency: (we use Python and R) * Experienced a Homejoy cleaning and already know how we work as a client
