Ask HN: How fast do PCI scanners scan your site(s)?

We're in the middle of hour #11 right now and they are submitting > 1,500 page requests per minute steady throughout that entire time. I had originally scheduled it for 11PM to run using the "Slow" setting for their crawler. Their FAQ said it should complete in "about 1 to 6 hours". It's now hour 11 and they've logged more than 3,000,000 page hits. This seems over the top excessive to me.

Can anyone else comment on how fast/much they scan your sites?
