The Magnetic Lasso Algorithm (rivit.cs.byu.edu)

I've been doing some machine vision research lately and needed an algorithm for finding contiguous image segments. This helped me out greatly.

(sidenote: I'm pretty sure these guys developed the "magic lasso" algorithm you see in photoshop.)
