Wit.AI (YC W14) is hiring full-stack engineers in Palo Alto

We are building the AI platform that helps 3000+ developers create apps that understand human language.

That’s an ambitious goal. After years of research and billions of dollars invested, even Google and Apple haven’t completely cracked the problem.

Our approach is different:

- We provide the mass of developers with a simple way to build apps that understand voice commands, and learn from every interaction ; and

- We leverage the community: what Wit.AI learns is shared across developers.

We are a team of four engineers based in Palo Alto. We were part of Y Combinator W14 and funded by investors like Andreessen Horowitz, NEA and Ignition.

We’d like to hear from you if:

- You are a full-stack software engineer: you know how to build entire projects/features from Web UI to core ML algorithms

- You are curious: you can’t resist the urge to solve hard problems, learn new domains, try new things, and you don’t take “that’s impossible” for an answer

- You have done many mistakes (we know you won’t make them again)

Experience in NLP/Speech/Machine Learning is not required (and actually we also like when you don’t have any: curiosity > knowledge). Being ready to learn/do whatever it takes to succeed, from Clojure to Javascript to supporting users to C to assembling furniture, is expected though.

Some examples of what we’re working on now:

- Improve the learning efficiency and the accuracy of our Clojure-based NLP layer

- Leverage C/C++ open source speech to text engines (Sphinx, Kaldi)

- Build iOS and Android SDKs handling low-power magic word (“OK Google”) detection and audio streaming to the API

- Develop our AngularJS/React web console used by thousand of developers to get the most from Wit.AI
