Ask HN: Finding your awesome job?

Do you have a full-time job you love doing? That you are excited to start when you get up in the morning? That lets you work at your biggest ambition? How did you get that vocation, and how did you get that job?

I am especially interested in people who went from doing one kind of job to another really different kind of job, and in people who didn't even know their current job existed when they were just starting out in their career, and in people who wouldn't describe their current work as primarily about programming or analyzing data (although those things might be part of it!).
