Assuming I have a simple, static, html website to serve... Which provider should I choose to make it faster?

Obvious guesses: - Amazon - Rackspace - DigitalOcean - Linode - Heroku - ...

I wonder if there was any research on that... For instance: servers pinged from various locations over a period of time.

+ bonus question: internet speed of entry level tier ($5 per month) vs super-premium 1TB memory ($5 per hour)
